I am Vahid Behrouzian, born in 1980 in the city of Boroujerd in western Iran. I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Cinema from the University of Art. My journey with photography began at the age of twelve when I took my first pictures with my family’s camera. At eighteen, fueled by my passion for having my own camera, I started working and purchased my first camera. I immersed myself in documentary and street photography for several years, spending hours walking the streets. I have created several photography projects, two short films, and a feature-length film. I have also worked as a cinematographer and director for music videos and theater performances. I have participated in numerous group photo exhibitions and received several awards. Additionally, I have acted in several films and TV series. After university, especially when I delved into philosophy and theory, I realized I wanted something more than aimless, enjoyable photography or merely being in the cinema or in front of the camera. I changed my path and now, alongside teaching alternative and experimental filmmaking and film analysis, I engage in my own small photography and cinema projects.
